Joe Ramirez
Sunday Night Joy Host
In November 2022, Joe marked 37 years hosting Sunday Night Joy, KYCC's gospel music program. In 1985, the KYCC General Manager, Darryl Seibold, asked he and his wife to put together a GOSPEL show! He is a member of the GOSPEL MUSIC WORKSHOP OF AMERICA, which has been influential in the music and ministry of the artists played each Sunday.
Joe’s family moved to Stockton, Ca from Southern Ca in 1972. As a teenager he met his wife, Janet at First Pentecostal Church and they married in 1974. They have four children, Stephanie, Joey Jr., Christina, and Nicholas. Joe and Janet attend CLC and devote much of their free time to their children, their 18 grandchildren as well as their 3 great-grandchildren.
Joe's favorite song is "More Than Enough" by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and his favorite artist is Daryl Coley. He and Janet share a love for Mexican food and thoroughly enjoy the experience of hosting Sunday Night Joy. Says Joe, "We have had the privilege of meeting many of the singers that we play on our program.” They have interviewed three gospel legends, Andrae’ Crouch and Edwin & Walter Hawkins.
